Thought I would post another update on how things have been this week around here. First of the week was normal for us getting some things done on the boat and a rocket launch. Washed the top deck down and working on some of our enclosure panels that need sewing repairs. Also discovered we lost a spreader boot on rigging. This led to trying to send me up the mast. That didn't work as I have a great fear of heights. So then I tried to send Dwight up the mast which also didn't work since I can't pull him up even with the help of winches. So we have ordered gear for him to climb the mast with my assistance but that will have to wait as the weather and wind changed. On Wednesday afternoon we went under gale warnings. We have experienced our first 20 to 35 knot winds for the last few days. It has made boat very rocky, loud inside with splashing water from waves and rigging howling, and kept us healed over to our port side. It has been a learning experience for us to learn how to sleep and function in the conditions plus keep the boat safely tied to the dock. We have made a couple purchases in the past week we are excited about. First one is a new dinghy for the boat which also saves as our life raft so it was very important for us. The other was a Sailrite sewing machine that is a specific machine for sewing sails and canvas work. I am and have not ever been a sewing person but it is time to learn as hand sewing the repairs to our canvas enclosure wasn't working. Plus we want to eventually update the cushions in our salon. These were not purchases in our plans or budget but became something we decided we were going to have to spend the money on for our safety and helping keep our sails and canvas in good shape. Then we got to watch another rocket launch on Friday. We don't get tired of seeing the rocket launches off our boat. Today we start learn how to use this machine so should be fun. I will post some pictures and videos below from this past week. We still have high winds today then they go away for what should be a beautiful week here. We get our new dinghy Wednesday, send Dwight up to fix boot on Tuesday, wash and clean sides and bottom of boat Monday and Tuesday and we are hoping to go out sailing on Thursday and Friday. Thanks for following along on our journey and I hope you all will subscribe to our YouTube Channel to watch videos of what we are doing each week. We are enjoying and learning a lot about our new life and boat and we are almost set up to take off on our journey to the keys and Bahamas.
